Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need any prior knowledge about emotional learning to use the kit?

Not at all. We’ve designed the kits for real families, not experts. Each one includes a simple caregiver guidebook to help you get started, and every tool is clear, guided, and easy to use straight away. You can open it, explore together, and learn as you go.

What age range is The Feelings Kit suitable for?

The kit is designed for children roughly ages 6–12, but many families use it outside that range too. Younger children enjoy the characters and simple prompts, while older children benefit from the deeper 'Make It' cards, conversations and reflection activities.

What should I do if I have a question about using the kit?

You can reach out anytime. Whether you’re unsure how to start, want ideas for adapting the tools, or just need a bit of guidance, we’re here to help. Email us at hello@thefeelingskit.com and we’ll get back to you as soon as we can.

Do I need to buy everything at once, or can I start with just a kit?

Most families begin with a kit, because it gives you everything you need to support one emotion with confidence — the cards, the guide, and the simple steps that make it easy to get started. As your child grows more familiar with that emotion, you can add tools like the Worry Pads, the Checking-In Pad or other supporting items to deepen the practice. If you’d prefer to start smaller, each product can stand alone too but the kits are the clearest, calmest place to begin.

Will you be releasing new tools or expansions in the future?

Yes. We’re always learning from parents and developing new ideas. Our goal is to grow The Feelings Kit over time with new characters, prompts, and tools that support families in everyday emotional moments.

How do the different tools in the kit's and across the store work together?

Each tool supports a different part of emotional learning — from naming feelings to practising coping strategies. They’re designed to be used together or individually, depending on what your child needs in the moment. Many families start with the full kit and add the journal or pads as their child grows in confidence.

Is the kit suitable for neurodivergent children?

Yes. Many families with neurodivergent children find the kit especially helpful. The tools are visual, predictable, and gentle, with no pressure to respond in a specific way. Every child is different, so you can adapt the activities to your child’s pace and communication style.

Where can I find your full safety guidance?

You can read our full Safety Statement in the website footer. It explains exactly what to do if you ever need extra support.
